At Monash Health, we understand the profound impact that a positive birth experience can have on a woman’s wellbeing. Even when medical care is required, we know we can provide that care in a way that keeps the woman at the centre of her care. That’s why we’ve developed the Operative Vaginal Birth (OVB) Safety Bundle.

The OVB Safety Bundle is an initiative designed to enhance the safety and experience of operative vaginal births through a culture of safety, interdisciplinary communication, and adherence to best practices.

By implementing best-practice training, tools, procedural checklists and postnatal debrief pathways, the safety bundle aims to reduce complications and improve outcomes for both mothers and babies. Our comprehensive training package is adaptable and designed to support health services to successfully implement the bundle in their setting, ensuring that more women can benefit from safer, more positive birth experiences.

Through the OVB Safety Bundle, we can transform the way operative vaginal births are managed and ensure better outcomes for mothers, babies, and healthcare teams.
