Nereda Hand
Amber Team | Midwifery Team Leader. 
 
 
 
 
Nereda has 28 years experience as a midwife with extensive experience within the field of Maternal Fetal Medicine. She has extensive experience in CTG interpretation, fetal surveillance and has previously been an educator with RANZCOG delivering the Fetal Surveillance Education program throughout Australia. She was involved with the redevelopment of the Birth Suite and the setting up of the Pregnancy Assessment Unit which has improved waiting times and work flow. Nereda also has a diploma of business Management to compliment her clinical skills. Nereda is committed to improving outcomes of women and their babies.



Dr Michelle Schlipalius

Jade Team Medical Team Leader :
MBBS (Hons) Monash, FRANZCOG Michelle works full time as a consultant obstetrician at Monash Health Dandenong Hospital. During her RANZCOG training she gained experience locally at Southern Health and The Mercy and spent her elective training years in Ireland and England. Michelle has a keen interest in our junior medical staff and is a RANZCOG training supervisor. She examines for the RANZCOG post-graduate written and oral exams and also facilitates on the Basic Surgical Skills Course. Michelle is very involved with maternity emergency training and facilitates with Monash Health VicPROMPT, the Victorian Maternity Services Emergency Program and the Managing Obstetric Emergency and Trauma course (both in Australia, New Zealand and the UK). Michelle is also an instructor for the Generic Instructor Course managed by the Advanced Life Support Group in the UK. Michelle also has an appointment with Monash University teaching undergraduate medical students.

Colleen White
Ruby Team |  Midwifery Team Leader 
Sapphire Team |  Midwifery Team Leader.  Colleen has been at Monash Health in both nursing and midwifery for 14 years. Colleen has been at midwife at Casey since its opening in 2005, and became Midwifery Unit Manager since 2008. During this time Colleen has managed the implementation of the Caseload midwifery and Homebirth programs, and was awarded Southern Health Nursing and Midwifery Leadership award and Midwife of the Year in 2011. Colleen resides with her husband and six children on the Mornington Peninsula.



 Willie Dolan
Clinical Midwife Consultant | Lactation Monash HealthWillie has worked in healthcare for the past 27 years and of which, 18 years have been in Midwifery. Willie has specialised in low risk maternity care and lactation. He took up post at Monash Health in August 2011 and his role is to develop and improve lactation services across all of the three maternity sites.



Dr Christine Tippett
Amber Team | Medical Team Leader, Director of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Monash Medical Centre Monash Health, Lead Clinician of the Victorian Department of Health Maternity and Newborn Network (MNCN) and Honorary Senior Lecturer, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Monash University. She established the Maternal Fetal Medicine Unit at Monash Medical Centre and was in private obstetric practice until June 2011, specialising in the management of high risk pregnancies in particular women with medical problems such as heart disease, diabetes, cystic fibrosis and renal disease. Chris is a past President of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) and has been a member of many Boards and Committees. She is currently a member of the Federal Governments Medical Services Advisory Committee (MSAC), a member of the National Specialist International Medical Graduate Committee of the Medical Board of Australia, a member of the Victorian Council on Obstetric and Paediatric Mortality and Morbidity, Stillbirth Committee, and a board member of FIGO- The International Federation of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She was made a Member of the Order of Australia in 2010 for her contribution to Women's Health.
