Dr Peter Neil

Peter is an Obstetrician Gynaecologist specialising in High Risk Pregnancy. He finished his medical degree at the University of Melbourne in 1996, and after a short stint in General Practice he then went on to train as a specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist through Monash Health. Peter pursued his interest in managing complicated pregnancy by completing Fellowship years in maternal-fetal-medicine (MFM), looking after the highest risk pregnancies. He also has expertise in fetal ultrasound, and complicated vaginal births such as twins, rotational forceps and breech deliveries.

Fiona Connell

Fiona has been a registered nurse since 1980, completing her general nursing training at the West Gippsland Hospital Warragul. She worked as a nurse in Intensive Care in London at St Thomas's and Epworth, in Richmond.
Following completion of her midwifery at the Royal Women's Hospital, Melbourne in 1986, she undertook an Advanced Diploma of Health Science as a Paramedic. Since 1995 she has been a midwife at Monash Health, being appointed to Midwifery Team Leader in December 2014.
Throughout this time she has have had the pleasure of providing care to women, their babies and families. Fiona is committed to ensuring women receive the best possible care. She lives in the eastern suburbs with her husband and two children.

Robyn Fisken

Robyn has been employed as a midwife since 1979,and has been working in the Birth Centre since 1984 (at Queen Vic; MMC Moorabbin and MMC Clayton). She became Unit Manager of the Primary Midwifery Care Teams in July 2007 and Unit Manager of Women’s Health Outpatients in July 2012. Robyn has co-authored an information booklet for health professionals on the detection and management of blood born viruses in pregnancy 2011.

Ros has had a
 comprehensive 30 years of midwifery practice, which includes 9 years at Monash Health working as an Midwife Advanced Standing within the Primary Care team. Passionate towards women centred care and providing continuity care.


Dr Ravi Kashyap MBBS, FRANZCOG

Obtained MBBS Monash University 1989. Worked at Monash Medical Centre from 1990 to 1994. Obtained training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Royal Women’s Hospital from 1995 to 1998. Spent one year in further training at The National Maternity Hospital, Holles St, Dublin in 1999 before returning to Monash as Senior Registrar in 2000. Obtained FRANZCOG in 2001 and since then has worked in private practice in South East suburbs. Ravi has spent 4 years as treasurer and 2 years as chairman of the Victorian Regional committee of RANZCOG. He has been the senior consultant in the Wednesday antenatal clinic for the last 10 years and has been the lead consultant for the ECV (external cephalic version) clinic for the last 5 years. Ravi has remained active in student teaching through mentoring, lecturing and examining 4th year students. He was also on the organising committee of the RANZCOG ASM in Melbourne in 2012.



Dr John Regan

John obtained his Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 1991 after training at Monash Medical Centre, Victoria and at Pembury Hospital, Kent, UK. Following completion of his training, he was appointed as a consultant Obstetrician at Monash Medical Centre and also commenced private practice in Obstetrics and Gynaecology He has been involved with the diabetic clinic at Monash Medical Centre since that time, and has been head of the unit over the past 9 years. He also continues to have an active private practice in both Obstetrics and Gynaecology, delivering at Monash Medical Centre and Cabrini Hospital in Melbourne. John has also been Chair of the craft group of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists at Cabrini over the past 6 years.

John has been involved in College affairs for over 20 years. He was the first trainee representative on RANZCOG council and, upon completion of his training, he was elected to the Victorian Regional Committee where he served in various capacities over 6 years, including Chairman for 2 years. He is currently in his second term as a Councillor on the RANZCOG Federal Council currently serving as deputy treasurer and deputy chair of the CPD committee as well as deputy chair of the Specialist International Medical Graduates committee. He also serves as the RANZCOG representative on other various committees.

In the past, John has been chairman of the organizing committee of the Annual Scientific Meeting of RANZCOG when it was held in Melbourne in 2000, and has been in charge of Obstetric and Gynaecology training at Monash Medical Centre. Over the past 6 years John has been Chair of the craft group of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists at Cabrini Hospital.

Nereda Hand

Amber Team | Maternity Team Leader | Midwifery 

Nereda has 28 years experience as a midwife with extensive experience within the field of Maternal Fetal Medicine. She has extensive experience in CTG interpretation, fetal surveillance and has previously been an educator with RANZCOG delivering the Fetal Surveillance Education program throughout Australia. She was involved with the redevelopment of the Birth Suite and the setting up of the Pregnancy Assessment Unit which has improved waiting times and work flow. Nereda also has a diploma of business Management to compliment her clinical skills. Nereda is committed to improving outcomes of women and their babies.


William Dolan

Clinical Midwife Consultant | Lactation Monash Health

Willie has worked in healthcare for the past 27 years and of which, 18 years have been in midwifery. Willie has specialised in low risk maternity care and lactation. He took up post at Monash Health in August 2011 and his role is to develop and improve lactation services across all of the three maternity sites.
